Give the dog small amounts of water; ensure the dog does not gulp water or take in too much water. Never give the dog Gatorade or Powerade. Apply cool water to your pets paws and underside making sure to get the body temperature lowered slowly. Never use ice or ice water to cool your dog down. Do not immerse the dog in cold water that could cause shock and/or hypothermia if the dog is cooled down too fast. I have read conflicting reports on wrapping your dog in a towel..some vets say wrap them in a cool towel others say don’t because it causes a “sauna” effect and only heats the dog up faster…. Young puppies, elderly, overweight and black dogs are easily susceptible to heat stroke. Take care of your pet during the summer hot months.

Remember: Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOG IN A CAR.

Updated Site

http://lovinganimalspetcare.weebly.com/1/post/2010/02/updated-site.html

http://lovinganimalspetcare.weebly.com/1/post/2010/02/updated-site.html#comments

Uncategorized

FYI NOTICE:*Just keeping things updated.
