Well a GREAT repellant for any pet is SkinSoSoft oil by AVON. Yes, that is correct. I have had reports from my Avon customers that this actually not only repells insects like mosquitos but it also helps to soften the pets skin. I have tried it and it does seem to work. My Chi's skin is softer too. Add Comment Summer & Heat Stroke As the weather gets hotter the higher the risk of your pet getting heat stroke. Take immediate action if your dog shows these signs: * Rapid panting * Bright red tongue * Red or pale gums * Thick, sticky saliva * Depression * Weakness * Dizziness * Vomiting – sometimes with blood * Diarrhea * Shock * Coma You should immediately remove the dog from the sun and take them to a cool shaded place. Give the dog small amounts of water; ensure the dog does not gulp water or take in too much water. Never give the dog Gatorade or Powerade. Apply cool water to your pets paws and underside making sure to get the body temperature lowered slowly. Never use ice or ice water to cool your dog down. Do not immerse the dog in cold water that could cause shock and/or hypothermia if the dog is cooled down too fast. I have read conflicting reports on wrapping your dog in a towel..some vets say wrap them in a cool towel others say don’t because it causes a “sauna” effect and only heats the dog up faster…. Young puppies, elderly, overweight and black dogs are easily susceptible to heat stroke. Take care of your pet during the summer hot months. Remember: Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency. NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOG IN A CAR. Updated Site 02/16/2010

NEW Adoptee's Link! 09/24/2009
Hey everyone! I just wanted to inform you all of the NEW link I made on my web page. Its titled Adoptee's. Its for people that are looking to Re-home or Adopt out their pet. Please no bashing the people that post especially since all replies will be filtered thru me first. This give people the chance to try and find their pet a new home or to find someone to care for the pet (for free for the most part) as a shared care giver. Shared care is when people want to keep the pet but can not afford the fees of a boarding facility. Another will care for the pet while the owner is away and return the pet to the own when the agreement commences. Details are to be worked out between possible care giver and owner. I am NOT responsible for anything that may happen. Nor am I reccommending the person that replies or submits the ad. I am just trying to help keep the number of pets down in the shelters and the death rate down. Probably impossible but at least its a shot. Shared care is perfect for the person that wants to "test" out a type of pet or breed. If you are thinking of owning a pet you may want to do shared care first and see if that pet or breed would be a fit for you and your lifestyle. If not then no worries you give the pet back and you know now its not for you. If you like it then its time to look into adoption. Thanks for reading and hopes this helps some of you! Pet sitters out there. 03/16/2009
Ok, I have noticed that there are a lot of people out there claiming to be pet sitters or pet care providers. Believe it or not they are as young as 12yrs old. Now I am all for supporting young people in their job quest, however I am floored at how many people are posting their CHEAP pet care services. Pet adoption and control talk 03/09/2009
This is where we can discuss animal adoption, rehoming, or anything pet related. I am STRONG on adopting and feel that we all need to do our part to help control the pet populaion because there are just too many adorible animals out there that are dying for no good reason. With a little help fro everyone I am sure that we will one day see euthanasia stoped. First Post! Care Comments 02/05/2009
